Get Better Skin Using Our Microneedling Services
Tired of fine lines, acne scars, or uneven skin tone? Microneedling is a new trend in skin care with some pretty impressive results, at a fraction of the cost of more invasive lasers and surgery.
There are many non-surgical cosmetic treatments for the skin that works by triggering the body’s natural healing mechanisms, either through heat, radio waves, or some other type of physical stimulation. Microneedling is a treatment that involves making very tiny punctures in the skin with a special handheld device to kick start the body’s wound healing process.
By generating new skin cells and boosting collagen production, Microneedling produces smoother, softer, more youthful-looking skin after about 3-5 treatment sessions spaced 4-6 weeks apart.
The creation of micro-wounds during the microneedling treatment allows topical products to penetrate deeper into the skin than they normally would. This increases the skin's ability to utilize the nutrients.
Reduce fine lines and wrinkles. Microneedling can soften the skin to reduce the appearance of developing lines around the mouth or under the eyes. With an increase in collagen production following treatment, the skin will retain a smoother, more taut appearance to prevent further development of wrinkles and sagging.
Decrease acne scars. Even if your acne cleared up years ago, it may have left behind unsightly scars. Microneedling is a great treatment option for acne scars because it encourages the production of new, healthy skin cells that will create a smoother, more even appearance on the surface.
Shrink pore size. If you have larger pores, Microneedling can reduce the size of the pores while allowing optimal absorption of skincare products that can further improve the appearance and texture of the skin.
Improve skin texture. This treatment is effective for uneven skin tone or rough, sun-damaged skin.
Boost collagen production. Can be used as preventative maintenance for almost anyone, of any skin color, to help prevent and treat the signs of aging, skin laxity, and collagen loss in the skin.
Do not use topical agents that may increase the sensitivity of skin: retinoids, topical antibiotics, exfoliants, acids that may be drying or irritating to the skin (such as alpha hydroxyl acid (AHA) beta hydroxyl acids (BHA), exfoliating masks, salicylic acids, hydroquinone, and benzoyl peroxide acne products) 5-7 days prior.
Do not take any anti-inflammatory medications such as ibuprofen, Motrin, or Advil for 7 days prior to treatment. These agents will interfere with the natural inflammatory process that is critical and responsible for your skin rejuvenation.
Avoidance of IPL/Laser procedures, unprotected sun exposure, or sunburn for 2 weeks prior.
No waxing, depilatory creams, or electrolysis to the area being treated 5-7 days prior.
No shaving the day of the procedure to avoid skin irritation. If there is dense hair present in the treatment area, closely shave the area the day before you arrive at your appointment. Moles, warts, or actinic (solar) keratosis cannot be treated.
If you are prone to cold sores, take an antiviral agent for 3 days prior to and day of treatment.
Bruising is a common risk. Avoid blood-thinning agents (aspirin, fish oil, Omega-3, Vitamin E) for 1 week prior. May resume day after treatment.
Skin is clean without lotion, oil, makeup, powder, perfume, or sunscreen. The patient may wash their face in the office upon arrival.
